Information about PAHS Library: Library Rules

A total of 3 books can be borrowed at a time.

Loan period 2 weeks

Fine is charged on overdue books at the following rate:

• 1st week – Rs 1/day per item

• 2nd week – Rs 2/day per item

• 3rd week – Rs 10/day per item

If returned books are found mutilated, you need to compensate. Be sure before you borrow it & show it to the library staff if book/s you borrow is already mutilated.

If the borrowed book/s is/are lost, replace or pay the actual cost of book with Rs 500/- added charge.

If book/s borrowed is/are overdue for more than two months, the further book loan is blocked. 

Opening time: 

• 8:00am to 10:00pm
  (Saturday closed)

Library membership is mandatory to avail the borrowing privileges.

The following user categories are entitled for membership to the PAHS library.

1. Faculty members
2. PAHS medical students
3. Patan Hospital Clinical Staff members
4. Short term volunteer faculty members

*Note: Membership can be obtained on submission of duly filled application form (form can be obtained from the library counter or admin section c/o Communication officer). On completion of administrative procedure, members will be issued  a card with barcode ID . Please be informed that  the loan transaction will be done through the ID card issued to you by  the library. 

Above is the ID card given to each library member

In case of ID card loss, the new card can be obtained by submitting a bank voucher to the library counter having paid a sum of Rs 200/- at Laxmi Bank.

Books borrowed may be renewed for one time for a maximum period of 2 weeks.

The following conditions apply on renewed books:

• Book/s can be renewed if not reserved by other.
• Books will be renewed only on clearance in case of overdue.
• Book/s will not be renewed at verbal/written request or via email.
